研究方向：

主要研究植物引種馴化、遷地保護與可持續利用，保護生物學，觀賞園藝學與品種分類命名，資源植物學，植物解剖學與胚胎學。

承擔的科研項目情況：

1、國家林業局項目：木蘭屬植物新品種特異性、一致性、穩定性測試指南及已知品種數據庫，2005-2006。

2、中國科學院知識創新工程重要方向項目：“植物的瀕危機制和保護原理研究”的子課題“太行花的遺傳多樣性研究”，2001-2004。

3、國際合作項目：中國百合屬植物的生物多樣性、保護與可持續利用，1999-2002。

4、國際合作項目：遺傳資源取得和利益分享的植物園政策探索項目，1997-2000。

5、國家自然科學基金項目：秋海棠屬植物多樣性和種質資源保存，1993-1995。

6、中國科學院“八五”重大項目：“生物多樣性的保護與可持續利用”的子課題“稀有瀕危植物的遷地保護”，1992-1995。

7、國家自然科學基金項目：第二批國家重點保護植物的保存和評價，1992-1994。
